"America needs comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship.
Hillary will:
Enact comprehensive immigration reform to create a pathway to citizenship, keep families together, and enable millions of workers to come out of the shadows.
Through legislation and executive action, Senator Sanders will implement a humane and secure immigration policy that will:
Dismantle inhumane deportation programs and detention centers;
Pave the way for a swift and fair legislative roadmap to citizenship for the eleven million undocumented immigrants;
There is no path to legal from illegal. As someone who has gone through the immigration process to get to the US, believe me when I say, even as a legal immigrant, there is not much more onerous.
You are talking to a legal immigrant here. Of course there is.
It's called "Go home and apply for visa or green card from your home country."
Really? Adding 50 million cheap labor to already saturated labor market is helping?
Like I said in my first post in this thread, I do support border security. I want illegal immigration stopped. That does not however mean I want to deport the ones that have been here, worked and stayed out of trouble.

No need to deport anybody. They will go home by themselves.
I just don't get why Democrats want to screw the poor while claiming they want to help the poor. If you were Republican, I'd be fine with as least you would be constant.
So basically, in response to a request that you back up your claim that the Democrats want to "import 50 million poor people" you provide links talking about some form of immigration reform to deal with those undocumented workers who are already here and number somewhere around 11 million?
In other words, your claim is a lie. I and several other posters here already suspected as much, but thanks for providing proof.
I've worked since I was 18 (including full time through chemo - healthcare is the biggest reason I cannot vote for a Republican), went to a top tier college on a full tuition scholarship and graduated debt free, and have never been on welfare. I vote for the Democrats.
This does not add up, to me. Someone like you has become successful because of your own initiative. Yet you wish to give all your power away to the government? I think something is missing.
Not here to debate immigration. I am here to ask why it is acceptable to screw our poor people.
. . . and it is your belief that Republicans don't screw poor people? That is rich.
