That if Trump does not secure a first ballot win, then Ted Cruz is very likely going to win the nomination while Donald Trump is almost certainly going to be left sucking hind tittty.
How do you figure?????? Neither Trump or Cruz or favorable to the establishment. If Trump manages to not get in, Cruz will for sure be bypassed. How do you not see this? Cruz is the puppet for now and if he does his job they will discard him like yesterday's garbage.

Cruz will win a second ballot easily, he's already getting unbound delegates from various states on his side. If it gets to a 3rd or 4th, no way. Thats when you will see someone like a Ryan or Rubio.
Do I really need to explain why? Cruz was splitting the conservative vote with Rubio and Carson thru the biggest part of the election. Trump wasn't fighting anyone for votes, he had his own lane all to himself that allowed him to win states with a lowly 25% of the vote while the others all split votes with each other. If this were a more traditional race with only Cruz, Trump and Kasich from the start, Cruz would be up big by now.
And yet Cruz still wasn't able to win a plurality and marginalize all the other weaker candidates. Donald Trump is probably one of the most politically suicidal candidates in American history yet Cruz is still struggling against him.

Again, kind of hard to do when you are splitting votes with two other candidates while Trump had a lane all to himself.

The nomination is determined by the delegates, who are appointed by the individual states, not by any national apparatus. They are largely picked by the candidates themselves based on the outcomes of the state contests, assuming that the candidates send people to the individual states to participate in that process. Cruz has been very active and very effective in this phase of the campaign, Trump not so much.
There is no clear way for the leading candidates to be bypassed, unless there is an unreconcileable deadlock that has been clearly established over quite a few ballots. That does not appear to be likely in this instance at all.
If you are aware of a specific set of procedures that actually exists by which what you are suggesting could be accomplished, please do share with us what those are and how you think that might work.

How do you possibly justify your ideas....they are all going after the same pool of voters in the primary/caucus. It's not like Trump had some advantage when there were more candidates....where do you get the idea of this "lane" to himself?

I said nothing about an election did I? Learn to read.
Well when you make a statement like "Cruz has WON the last five states" there is a clear implication being made that 'Cruz won the last five primaries/caucuses/contests where 'the people' actually have a vote'.He didn't,you know it,so your statement was a clearly a lie unless you have a mind that works like Bill Clinton...which is entirely possible in your case.
Which five states are you even talking about? You would need a really convoluted path to arrive at that claim.
