Reading this article, I get the impression that Trump had no interest in winning or even competing in Colorado:
"Mizel has been asking the Trump campaign for "a long time" to have a presence in the state, she said, but until this week, they chose to focus their resources elsewhere.
"We could have had some things going, but the campaign decided to not put resources here," she said.
Trump was originally expected to speak at the Saturday convention, but canceled all of his West Coast events to focus on the New York primary."
I don't understand why Trump didn't try harder in CO. I don't understand the logic of it. He has known for a while that the only way he is going to get the nomination is if he can win it on the first ballot. It looks like he is doing everything in his power to lose the nomination.
On the one hand they say Cruz won all of the CO delegates. Done, finished, nobody left. The headline reads Cruz picks up all delegates in Colo but right under it you read,
"Of the 34 delegates Cruz won, only 30 are technically pledged to his campaign; four are party officials who are unpledged but have promised to support Cruz, and the campaign placed them on its slate."
Trump can easily win without Colorado, however I'm sure they are mulling it over. After the caucus elects a delegate, that delegate has to be approved by the county committee. That committee can reject based on the delegate's involvement and contribution. If they took out a known party doer, they might be in trouble. Other wise, probably not.
Maybe he couldn't find a venue for a mega-rally, his favorite campaign tool where he can shovel his manure to thousands of adoring worshippers at once.
Maybe his crack campaign staff didn't realize when the delegates were selected.
Maybe he didn't poll high enough in the Denver metro, so decided to stay home.
Maybe he didn't think 37 delegates were worth the expense.

The fix was in and everyone knows it - more to come on this abomination of a Republican party.
