Trump and his staff are amazingly uninformed of how the nomination process works. This is yet another example of how even when it becomes clear that there is important information they don't know or understand that they don't bother to educate themselves about it.
It is a serious flaw for someone who wants to be president.

Because the delegates are party insiders, and were told by the GOP to support Cruz, so they did what they were told. It really is as simple as that.
More like Trump's campaign is being run by people who is as ignorant and incompetent as he is. The list of delegates his campaign distributed to be voted on had incorrect numbers assigned to them, and since voters choose delegates by those numbers and not by name or candidate affiliation, those who wanted to vote for Trump's delegates were unable to do so.
Was this an example of "the best and smartest people" he claims he will have in his administration? If he can't even figure out how to procure delegates, how can anyone expect him to navigate the much more complicated duties of the most powerful office in the world?

Uh, not really ... if Trump is anywhere near 1,237 he will get the nomination and you anti-Trumpsters will be crying in your pink lemonade.
The fix was in and everyone knows it - more to come on this abomination of a Republican party.
Because trump didn't bother to play in Colorado (or anywhere else that he didn't do well) doesn't mean the thing was 'fixed'. It does mean, however, that trump needs to get his ground game going, or he will end up lacking the number of delegates that he needs, either on the first convention ballot, or during the negotiations to try to win over delegates from other candidates.
If the republican party is such an abomination, perhaps it would behoove you to leave it. I don't imagine you would go over to the democrat party, so maybe you can find one more to your liking in those smaller parties. Or, maybe trump will make good on his 'threat' to leave with all his followers, and form a party just for y'all. Good luck with that.
Maybe he couldn't find a venue for a mega-rally, his favorite campaign tool where he can shovel his manure to thousands of adoring worshippers at once.
Maybe his crack campaign staff didn't realize when the delegates were selected.
Maybe he didn't poll high enough in the Denver metro, so decided to stay home.
Maybe he didn't think 37 delegates were worth the expense.
It's all a waste of time. If Trump gets anywhere near 1237, the party regulars will require 1500 delegates to get nominated. It's fixed. Cruz, Sanders, and Trump have no chance at being president.
Trump could have beaten Hillary if the party got out of his way on March 15 and rallied around him. Too late now. They dropped the ball again.
Hillary has no enthusiasm behind her. She will be president by default. It will be Clinton vs. Haley or Ryan. No one will show up and Hillary will win.

If you think Trump is not willing to play, you might want to read this.
Most would agree that the GOP has failed to adapt to the changing demographics in this country and fronting a far right-winger like Cruz will do nothing to remedy that. And I would have no problem leaving the GOP and see nothing wrong with an Independent party getting more clout.
