Imagine if you skipped school on a test day and then when you found out you got a big fat zero for your grade you started blubbering about how the system was rigged against you and crying "No fair! No fair!"

That is apparently the kind of thinking and behavior that goes on not only in the mind of Donald Trump, but in the minds of many of his cult followers as well. If anyone wonders what is wrong with our country at the core, this is it, live and in Technicolor.

Shouldn't election be won by the person who gets the most votes? Shouldn't it be as simple as any other countries in the world?

Or should it have obscure rules to benefit the main players who gets to nominate with bogus delegate rules. Wait the biggest democracy in the world and still they are rigging it to benefit them.

It should be won by the candidate who can gather a support of a majority of the delegates. It is the same reason we have runoffs for most contests where a majority is not initially achieved.

Maybe it has already been said, I haven't (and don't plan to) read all the posts, but cruz WON nothing in Colorado. The party leadership GAVE the delegates to him without having any election or caucuses! The will of the people was NOT heard or even considered!
Apparently, the party leadership was AFRAID of what the people would say, so they didn't give them a chance to speak!

They changed the rules in August when Trump's popularity was evident, especially in a more liberal/purple or swing states.

I think the GOP is just practicing voter suppression on a small scale to see what they can get away with. They are trying various tactics; Arizona is another example. It's depressing that citizens of this country are okay with this.

Are Colorado Republicans up in arms about this? I haven't heard that they are. You'd think that they'd be upset if they felt they hadn't been heard. All the complaining I've heard, both on c-d and elsewhere, has been from people who are NOT Colorado Republicans. Do you have solid information that Colorado Republicans are protesting this?

Here's an article you might want to read - Ted Cruz

It should in a Democracy.

But guess what? We live in a Representative Republic.

That was done by design.

I sure wish they still taught Civics in school. We need it!!

America is a Representative Republic NOT A DEMOCRACY.

Our system of voting for the President of the US is not based on a majority of the votes, rather it is based on the majority of ELECTORAL votes.

In the Primaries, DELEGATES are elected to attend the NATIONAL PARTY CONVENTION and vote for the candidate they were elected to vote for at the convention.

Some states hold elections for delegates who are not tied to a specific candidate. Why? Because some primaries/caucuses take place so early in the process that some of the candidates are already out of the race by the time of the National Convention and if the delegates are bound to a candidate, then their vote is basically wasted.

Anyone can run for the nomination to the Presidency, but if you CHOOSE to run under the banner of a particular political party, you are subject to the rules set forth by the party.

Trump CHOSE to run as a Republican (he could have run as an independent or as the candidate of another party) and is therefore subject to the rules determined by the Republican party.

His inability to understand that his decision to run as a Republican subjects him to the party rules is NOT the fault of the GOP or CRUZ.

Colorado wasn't "stolen" from Trump, there was never a Vote in a primary OR a Caucus. It was "stolen" from the Citizen GOP Voters and decided in a closed room by the Political Elite. We have no idea who might have actually WON Colorado IF the Citizens had Voted.
