We shall see how they trend for the next few weeks.

By Ohio's standards, HRC's +4.8 lead for the month of August is actually quite sizeable.

If that holds, it would be the largest margin of victory by any candidate, Democrat or Republican, since 1996. But yeah, Donald has Clinton right where he wants her.

Roanoke College:

Virginia Clinton 48, Trump 32, Johnson 8, Stein 3

Likely a bit of an outlier but it does give us insight into why Clinton stopped advertising in Colorado and Virginia as well. The guys that run Benchmark Politics and Brandon Finnigan of Decision Desk HQ have said both states demographically are out of Trumps reach for months.

That's still too high for Johnson and Stein. We should be seeing them drop in the coming weeks. The same survey has her by 8 without them. Either way, there has been virtually no change in a month. Trump is treading water at best and is about to go under.

That's what you would think but they usually start dropping after the conventions. Of course usually the conventions aren't until now either.

I would have thought Johnson would be hurting Trump, but it seems like he is hurting Clinton more. When the pollsters ask them to choose they choose Clinton too and the gap increases. I guess they don't love her at all but forced to choose they find Clinton less objectionable.

No, it's about equal with Johnson. It's Stein that is dropping Clinton the most. Of course she does seem to slowly be losing support over the months as well.

Maybe.

Clinton and Trump and Johnson all hold steady whether you measure Clinton/Trump/Johnson or Clinton/Trump/Johnson/Stein.
Maybe Stein voters are simply Green voters who will not vote for anything other than Green Party. No Green Party; no vote.
