The answer is simple. It goes along the lines of the 47% and the basket of deplorables.

The answer? They are idiots. This is one of the reasons for the electoral college.

We are 50 sovereign states. Every state has it's own government, including a governor. Every state is different in some way. It is said that in America one can vote with their feet. If you don't like the way one state is governed, or it's laws, you can move to another state.

That is why each state votes independently for president. The votes are tallied, and the winner becomes that states duly elected choice for president.

For this reason, it is pointless to even consider who won the popular vote nationwide. Though it may be interesting data, it is not really useful data.

And, our system is not likely to change, as there is very good reason why the framers created the E.C., and those reasons are just as valid today.

In the 49 out of 50 states excluding California he won the popular vote. Comments?

First of all, in your fantasy world of white male tyranny, women may be a helpless oppressed minority group, but in the real world women are the majority, outvote men and decide every election.

It is a statistical fact that males, and particularly white males, are simply along for the ride.

At this point it's the only drum they have.

last I check PEOPLE in the other 49 states that slave states and prairie dogs voted

she got 48%, trump 47%, and 5%to the 'others'

and the FACT is that Hillary only got 48% of the vote...which means 52% voted AGAINST her

the amount of votes doesn't matter

winning the states is what matters

Trump won 30 states....Hillary won 20 states plus DC

let's look at some of those states Hillary won

look at Nevada...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 17 counties...Hillary won only 2....trump took 15 counties

look at Colorado ...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 64 counties...Hillary won only 23..... trump took 41 counties

look at Oregon ...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 36 counties...Hillary won only 8..... trump took 28 counties

look at Washington ...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 39 counties...Hillary won only 12..... trump took 27 counties

look at New Mexico...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 33 counties...Hillary won only 14..... trump took 19 counties

look at Minnesota ...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates....but...out of 87 counties...Hillary won only 9..... trump took 78 counties

look at VERY BLUE New York...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates.... but...out of 62 counties... Hillary won only 16..... trump took 46 counties

look at VERY BLUE Maryland...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates.... but...out of 24 counties... Hillary won only 7..... trump took 17 counties

look at Virginia...Hillary won the state (popular vote) and got the electoral delegates.... but...out of 133 counties... Hillary won only 40..... trump took 93 counties

look at Florida (trump won)....9 million pieces of grass voted...and of that 48.6% said trump over Hillary

Clinton lost because she is a proven liar
Candidate Hillary..."I'm for women".........................the real hillary........." the rapist was lured by the 15 yr old".... "all these tramps seduced my husband"

candidate Hillary..."I'm for minorities and blacks".......the real Hillary......"he's a n-word"

candidate Hillary...."I'm against the TTP"..........the real Hillary " I helped negotiate TTP, and Nafta was/is great"

candidate Hillary "woman should be paid the same".......the real Hillary 'everyone of my female staff is paid far less than my male staff'

Hillary "what difference does it make" . "lets move on from the past"........ I am sure ambassador Stevens and the others appreciate that hillary says what difference does it make

she proved that she is the MOST TWO-FACED POLITICAL CANDIDATE IN THE LAST 50 years

So true, and they keep putting themselves in a worse position by re-electing Pelosi, and considering an avowed Jew hater, anti-American (follower of Louis Farrakahn) and Muslim Brotherhood operative, Keith Ellison to chair their shrinking Party. They might as well rename the Party the American-Muslim Party and be done with it.

A number of Democratic Electoral College electors are planning to use their votes to undermine the election process in opposition to President-elect Donald Trump, Politico is reporting.

...
With at least six electors already vowing to become "faithless," the defection could be the most significant since 1808, when six Democratic-Republican electors refused to vote for James Madison, choosing vice presidential candidate George Clinton instead.

The electors acknowledge that it is unlikely that they will be able to block Trump from gaining office, Politico reported, but they are optimistic that their effort will raise enough questions about the Electoral College to reform or abolish it.

...
Twenty-nine states legally require their electors to obey the results of the popular vote in their state.

Why do we have electors that do not believe in the electoral process? They need to be replaced.
Highly unlikely the E.C. will ever be abolished because it is the only thing that guarantees everyone a voice. Without it, a few heavily populated states and cities would dominate all others, and basically ride roughshod over the entire country. Democracy is said to be like two wolves and a lamb deciding on dinner.

If Trump had won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote, the anti-Trumps would have no problem whatsoever with the electoral college.

Liberals first decide what they want, and then come up with a "principle" to support it.

The principle quickly disappears when it doesn't support what they want.
