Contrary to popular Fake News, the SCOTUS did NOT ban abortion.

It sent it back to the states.

Kansas just voted to keep the abortion rights in their state's constitution. JUST AS THE SCOTUS DECISION PROVIDES FOR!

If anything, this shows people that abortion IS NOT illegal UNLESS a state's people want it to be. "Republicans" believe in states rights and the will of their people, not in unilateral "rights" made up by 9 justices.

This likely helps the misconception that abortion is now banned in the USA.
The problem is many states have banned them despite getting a gage of the "will of the people." Just look at the states that had trigger laws for instance.

Similarly, in Washington State, when put to the ballot, voters overturned a law passed by leftists in the legislature to give illegal immigrants drivers licenses. Most Americans--left or right--don't support that either, but it isn't something that is going to stop a Democrat from voting Democrat; just not high enough up on the list of important issues. But when able to single things out for a specialized/particularized vote, you may very well see things go the other way. I'd wager that's what we saw in Kansas.
No what I find is that even with the misleading way the Kansas Vote Them Both constitutional amendment proposition vote was worded, that the amendment was voted down. Here was the wording of the proposition to propose abortion restrictions in Kansas.

Should there be no Kansas constitutional right to abortion or to require the government funding of abortion, and reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected state legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion, including, but not limited to, in circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or when necessary to save the life of the mother?
