Shortly after Biden took office the Dems/MSM gushed how "unifying" he would be for the country. Tom Bevan the co-founder and president of Real Clear Politics remarked if the Dems/MSM think Trump supporters are going to suddenly forget the past four years watching Trump relentlessly hounded they are sadly mistaken.

Like it or not 2016 set the tone for 2020.

I think the OP is probably correct. Or was, when the OP was written.
DeSantis has made no secret of his ambitions, and he's been severing his ties to Trump for some time now.

He's only one of several possibles, but DeSantis has a lot of favorability he's gained within his party lately, more than the others.
I'm pretty sure he's not going to rush into making an announcement, as this hurricane's damage is enough for him to decide waiting and staying with his job as Governor is a better path for him right now than announcing a try for the Presidency anytime soon.

She had her followers storm the Capitol, too, huh?

Look, you're wrong. Hillary took her lumps and moved on. Contrast that with Trump.

Comparing how Hillary handled her loss and Trump are Apples and Oranges. She wasn't calling SOS and legislatures to overturn the election.

None of her followers stormed the capital to stop the counting of votes. Trump is the biggest sore loser this country has ever known along with his crybaby followers.

DeSantis/Trump are waiting for Nov. If the Rep. have big night including many of the Trump supported candidates... he won't challenge Trump.

On the other hand if the Rep have a poor showing Trump isn't likely to run and DeSantis moves to the head of the line.

Can't see anyone moving ahead of DeSantis unless he completely screws up the hurricane relief effort.

She called the President "illegitimate", said he stole the election and spread conspiracies. She diminished the institution and pushed for violence and unrest and it showed during the BLM riots that also attacked the W.H......funny that once Biden won the election, NO police brutality in the nation and NO BLM protests. Like they all went away. Weird, huh?

I recall the Republicans calling Obama illegitimate for the 8 years he was president and denying he was even a U.S citizen.

Who? McCain (2008 nominee)? Romney (2012 nominee)? head of the house (Ryan)? or Senate (Mitch)
If you can't call the b.s. of your own party, you have no leg to stand on.
