How many places would you like us to put this information that contradicts Atty's Donofrio's assertion that Obama's case is without precedent. (Pun intended)

See this, found by Tuborg:

Atlanta Public Policy Examiner: First generation presidents not always on history's side

Quote:
Mr. Obama will be the seventh man sworn in as President of the United States who has a parent born outside our borders. The other six are:

Thomas Jefferson (English mother)
Andrew Jackson (Scots-Irish parents emigrated from Northern Ireland);
James Buchanan (Irish father)
Chester Arthur (Irish father)
Woodrow Wilson (Scottish mother);
and Herbert Hoover (English-Irish mother).
Is that precendent or what?

I think many posters are now occupied watching the Victoria Secrets Fashion Show. It is a great pre Xmas opportunity to window shop without leaving home. It has great value for all.

People who file and cling to frivolous law suits damage this country.

He is going to be president, and no amount of caterwauling and gotcha games and are going to change that.

Those of you who doubt, read the Chicago Tribune article. It makes good sense and answers each allegation with facts, if you are in fact, interested in facts.

Grandfather clause. The grandfather clause allowed the first presidents to have parents who were originally non-U.S. citizens. It has a basis in logic. With no grandfather clause for the initial run of Presidents, then no one could have been elected President until 1823 (35 years after ratification) because they would have to wait for a newborn to grow old enough.
