Italian are bit darker than Norther Europeans because of the Mediterranean environment. Same applies to Spanish/Portuguese/ Greeks. But these people are still white.

I agree with you otherwise.
Italians like other Southern Europeans are white off course but you could find similar White/Caucasians sometimes out of Europe which is why we have Near Eastern, Middle Eastern, North Africans and some South Asians.
Sicilians, not Italians in general, intermarried with Arabs during the Middle Ages
One of the false myth modeled by american stereotypes.
The moors in Sicily were only the elite and with Frederick II the last moors were expelled, many of these moved to muslim Iberia, others in north Africa and still others in Lucera.
There is little, very few, recent moorish and arab admixture in sicilians.
Very good point mattewland (welcome).
I read that you are neapolitan, i also visited Naples and Sicily and to be honest, did not seem at all that people looks arab or moroccan how americans think.

Wrong...the Arabs that occupied Sicily were expelled from Sicily and there was never a significant amount of intermarriage.
As to the OP it is a typical troll question. All Europeans are mixed with some non-European elements whether it is Asian in North Europe or even SSA in England. But Southern Europeans seems to get the brunt of these stupid questions.

It hilarious to see a lot of these people try and downplay the Moorish presence in Southern Europe. Lets forget that they were there for over 700 years. lol.
It's like they refuse to accept that they might have some non-European ancestry.
Thanks Albert, unfortunately the stereotypes against our southern italians are too strong to be deleted.
Where are you from?
Frattello valenciano (is that right?)
