Spend a couple of days in Lugano. It's a popular town for young folks. Though seeing the places you have lived, you may have become a bit jaded already.
lol! I suspect the OP's problem is more that the people there are very reserved, and don't make friends easily. It takes time.--years, to make it from "acquaintance" status to "friend" (which, by definition, means 'close friend' ), according to locals there.
Look around for some hobby groups in your area to join, OP.
True, but when you do make a friend you have a friend for life.
Once you have lived in a world city, moving back to a more boring city is always a problem. The colors and liveliness of a world city are like an addiction.
Ever since I started living abroad, I get claustrophobia whenever I visit my hometown for instance. I just can't imagine living there anymore. No money in the world could compensate for that feeling...
lol! What I don't understand is why he started this whiner thread when he'd already submitted a visa application to teach in Moscow. He now has a what-to-expect-in-Moscow thread up.
