Yes Neuling, yes - that's what I meant by saying "after the initial shock of it all"))))

Soon you'd learn to ignore that kind of stuff and live your life to the fullest))))

Same about every country, even the US; the US will spend billions on foreign aid and defense BS, but yet have an aging infrastructure that results in blackouts, poor sewer system controls, levy systems that fail, bridge collapse, etc.

In the US, they will cut your power, gas, all utilities because you did not pay, people have frozen to death because of this.

Figuratively speaking Switzerland is this:

"You change car lanes and happen to forget putting in the blinker. The next guy passing you yells at you like the world is about to collapse".

Just read in another thread (on the Ukraine crisis) that the US spent $5bn on destabilizing the Ukraine, great priorities

And what would be the point of that?

Well, it's what the CIA has been doing for decades in various countries (Iran, Colombia, etc.).

I know, but that doesn't necessarily mean they did it in Ukraine. How would the US benefit from a Ukraine that splits into a Russian side and a Ukrainian side? Now there's a crisis that Russia is trying to resolve by its usual means. That certainly isn't of benefit to anyone.

It's easy to toss around accusations like this, and weave conspiracy theories (and who knows, it could be true), but coming up with a credible source is another matter. Which Uke thread was that on?

Problem is; CIA operations are not exposed for some time. It is fact the CIA has been involved in the overthrow of governments, like Operation Ajax, and the Russian response may have been unexpected.

IF the situation in Ukraine came about in part because of American interference (big "IF" at this point, imo), then the people responsible for it would have had to be pretty stupid not to anticipate this type of reaction from Russia. Which is not to say that certain US gov't agencies aren't above stupidity, but still.... that would have been a pretty obvious contingency to plan for.

Just observing the hysteria this forum has seen to past threads about Ukraine and the Ukrainian language, with members insisting it's not a separate language from Russian, tells me that the current situation had very organic causes, and didn't really need any help bringing it to a crisis state.
