lol! What I don't understand is why he started this whiner thread when he'd already submitted a visa application to teach in Moscow. He now has a what-to-expect-in-Moscow thread up.
I'm betting that as soon as he gets set up in Moscow, he'll be on here with a panic thread about dealing with the city and Russia. Who's in, for $20?

@ruthfortruth 1. what you don't know is that one may file an application for a visa, doesn't necessarily need to make use of the visa though.....
2. i don't know if you've ever lived in switzerland, so you probably couln't talk about that.
3. I might be a little bored here, but not bored to the extent where I would start looking through all the threads that you have started just to know what person I am dealing with .........
Maybe it makes sense to get out of Switzerland while it's still possible without much paperwork. If Switzerland carries on with anti-EU policies as indicated by the referendum, the EU will cancel the agreements with Switzerland and the free movement between Switzerland and EU countries will end, turning migration into a challenge again.
Maybe it is a good time to move to one of the southern countries where prices have dropped a lot due to the financial crisis. Or Ireland, Dublin is probably more interesting than any Swiss city. Britain is overpriced, especially the few interesting cities there are. Scandinavia and Germany are about is as bland as Switzerland.
Southern France might be of interest, while still affordable. Some Italian cities are not bad, either.
I don't know what your profession is, but Canada and Australia are still open to immigrants and have some good cities, each.

.
That sounds like the best idea. I wonder why the OP didn't consider that.

The visa-wife dating questions are already coming. My 20 are in.
Dude, you bailed from Switzerland to Moscow?! lol! Good luck with that...
I heard they turn the hot water off in the cities in summer. Is that true?
That certainly used to be true, as recently as the early 2000's. I don't know if there have been infrastructure improvements since then. Does anyone know?
It was always the weirdest thing; the Intourist Hotels charged top dollar for a room, but there was no hot water in the summer. You could never get away with that in Western Europe.

Oh Ruth it were you betting, not Neuling..
All right, doesn't matter, the bet is still on?

Well, of course you would suggest that, given your location and your country of origin..
Britain isn't really overpriced at all, outside of London, and I think cities like Manchester and Liverpool are less sterile than Scandinavian or German cities.
