Once Russia went ahead with the "wild capitalism," the general level of education in the country went down.
You didn't know that?
"Free market" does not value quality education "for the masses."
It sells it for a price.
I agree that the quality of education has dropped dramatically. And the funniest thing is that anti-inoculants and other sectarians sincerely believe that they are the smartest, because they received a good education and can tell the difference when the state deceives them. I think the main reason for this is. The state has deceived Russians so many times that they no longer believe even good things.
thanks for the music videos, some interesting stuff there, I have to be honest I don't like rap music at all, good stuff but just not my thing. Does Russia have any two tone bands? They're a bit 'dated' now of course but its a music genre I like, its not the only genre I like though, I like all sorts of stuff from the Stones to Amy Whinehouse and lots of the 'inbetweens'.
Maxim..
Question: who are "Artik & Asti"? Armenians?
I don't know. I haven't heard them before . Wiki says they are Ukrainians.

I have not heard their songs before. And they're definitely not my type . I read about them on the Internet, they have Russian music awards, but these awards are just cr*p in my opinion. But my taste is very specific, I am not a professional.

I think that she should not return to Ukraine. But not only because of politics. Even Russian music scene is a world's province. Ukrainian scene is just a dot on the world's map with an emptiness inside.
Sorry, but nobody outside of the former USSR has any clue about Russian music or cares about their backwards 90s style crossover pop. World's province, hah hah hah. All one of their Eurovision victories surely justifies that claim too. Just like calling Sputnik the "Vaccine for all mankind".
Slovakia used 20% of its sputnik doses and returned the to Russia today as nobody wants it. Out of 3,650,000 doses given in Slovakia, a whopping 40,000 were sputnik.
I got pulled over by a cop for driving through an upscale neighborhood in my service van (complete with my custom sound system) for playing this song too loud. He said he could hear it 100ft behind me in his prowl car while driving. He just gave me a warning.
btw, I'm willing to bet that the best sound of this song was on dad's old Soviet radio, connected to audio player. It was a very warm and tube amplifier sound . (Of course, this is a completely different meaning than your choose song, but 20 years ago I liked something simpler).
( You know, the poetry here in America ( and approach to it in general) is very different.
Think more within the lines of what's known in Russia as "White poems" ( "Белые Ñтихи.")
Yes, you already wrote about this. Slavic languages have great flexibility and allow you to create additional beauty in combinatorial vocabulary. For example, homograms (омограммы) - a lines have same letters, but differ in spaces:
Maxim, I don't remember what year you were born in, but I think by the end of the 80ies, early 90ies, "things American" were in in Russia, and I assume American bands too. ( I believe that that horrid "American boy" song that Alec the Ukrainian once posted, was the reflection of it all. .)
Ha-ha. "Combination". I forgot their for many years, but a couple of years ago I found their songs on YouTube and... it was very cool, flash back in a child (I was born in 1985). And I liked a few songs even now ))
But overall, yes. American culture penetrated into Russians in my generation, and it is a real chance for our nations to be friends. In 20 years, my generation will gain power in Russia, perhaps this will be a real chance for the US and Russia to become allies. But the tango is danced together.

The rest of the "foreign music" was mostly Italian or German, that sounded like Italian anyways ( yeah, add some French there.)))
Yes it is. But strangely enough, among my dad's re-recorded audio tapes was Kiss. I still don't know how it got there. )))

Meanwhile, record number of Russian singers and comedians gave concerts in Ukraine this year.
As much as the nationalists are trying to prohibit these events outlawing Russian language, as much as American embassy is trying to sow the animosity between Russians and Ukrainians, this is the point where these forces are failing.
Nothing can come between Russian rappers and their fans in Ukraine)))
THIS right here shows all the lies of the official propaganda/statistics about how many "Ukrainian speakers" vs Russian speakers are in Ukraine in reality.
Russian language still rules, no matter how much the bleating idiots are enforcing *love to Ukrainian art and culture.*
It's a stillborn child, as much as the whole project of the *great Ukrainian state.*
