One can be jailed simply by discussing of what they heard/saw on CNN or FOX, etc. as spreading lies, discrediting Russian army - criminal offence and a jail time up to 5 years, government politics, etc.
"A new song by a well-known Russian comic that satirises Moscow's war in Ukraine and its supporters has been referred to prosecutors by a patriotic organisation which believes it discredits the army, now a criminal offence."
But this is just an article about a complaint filed by a patriotic group. There's no way to know if the case will be accepted by the court and prosecuted. But apparently there's a new slaw making it illegal to discredit the army publicly. The law hasn't been tested yet.
Don't you know your new laws — " the state monopoly on truth, written into the law against “war fakes” — that is, military disinformation." (Chikov)
Everything and everybody can be thrown in there...Slepakov too.
"According to Net Freedoms, a legal aid group focusing on free speech cases, there were 79 criminal cases as of mid-August on charges of spreading false information about the military and up to 4,000 administrative cases on charges of disparaging the armed forces.
Pavel Chikov, a leading Russian human rights advocate, said on Wednesday that Russian courts have so far heard 3,500 administrative cases for discrediting the military and found most defendants guilty. All of them could face criminal charges like Roizman if they speak out again against Russia's operation in Ukraine, Chikov noted.
Until his arrest, Roizman remained one of the most visible opposition figures in Russia who had not been jailed or fled the country under pressure from authorities. Two other prominent opposition politicians, Ilya Yashin and Vladimir Kara-Murza were arrested under the same law as Roizman and face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Similar charges were recently brought against eight close associates of imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny. All of them have left Russia after they became the subjects of multiple criminal investigations."
The opposition politician Ilya Yashin got sentenced to 8.5 years in December in a penal colony.
P.S. 1 I guess we will see more events / more arrests on February 24th...
P.S. 2 Respect to Slepakov - he has balls of steel...
Almost 73% of Turks favor good relations with Russia: Poll
Gezici conducts a poll that found the majority of Turkish residents prefer good relations with Russia and consider it a friendly country.
A poll conducted by Gezici found that almost 73% of Turkish residents want good relations with Russia, with some 63% saying it is a friendly country.
"The results of the survey showed that Turkish residents trust Russia more than the West," Murat Gezici, head of the polling company, told the Aydinlik weekly.
As many as 62.6% of the Turkish respondents believe Russia is a friendly country, 68.5% see that Russia supports the Turkish economy, and 72.8% favor good relations with Russia.
The share of Turks who see the United States as an enemy has risen to 90% in recent year, Gezici said.
I think the west would rather kick Turkey out of NATO than leave Sweden and Finland out.
I don't see how. Turkey is constantly at odds with NATO member Greece and even invaded Cyprus, taking the northern section. They purchase Russian military equipment, and repeatedly go against NATO consensus. If they haven't been kicked out yet, I don't see how Sweden and Finland is going to make a difference. Turkey is way more strategically important than Sweden or Finland, giving them leverage.

According to the criminal article about fakes, only Yashin is in prison (and this is good). Everything else (fines, foreign status, etc.) is not a prison. Do not mislead people.
