The chemical attack wasn't necessary? They literally used it to eliminate resistance to reconquer an area they have been fighting to control for 5 years. It is in fact a great way to show the rebellion what they have coming to them if they don't give up.

Killing and controlling is exactly the world order that Putin is desperate to defend. That's why he prevents the UN from inspecting this gas attack area until his troops can clean it up.
Share leadership WITH WHOM exactly?
With "democratic moderate Arabs?"
But Assad was as moderate and democratic as it gets, practically secular.
In the Middle East, where Islam rules, there is no some "democracy" western style, it's the other way around - leaders who actually tend to promote peaceful coexistence of people of different denominations, have to rule their countries with an iron fist, in order to fend off Islamists, who feel that this peaceful coexistence is abomination to true Islam. So these "moderate arabs" challenging Assad ( whoever they are) are minuscule number of people, that have no business challenging Assad, because the RADICALS are immediately jumping on the bandwagon of "freedom and democracy," sponsored and imported into the country by Saudis with American petrodollars.
So when Americans start stirring the pot in the Middle East, citing the "absence of democracy" in Syria, I wonder whether it's a manifestation of stupidity, or downright straight lies and hypocrisy?

Whichever way it is, yes, I do believe that the blood of these Syrian children is on the hands of Americans in this case.

They found evidence that the CIA-backed terrorists kidnapped women and children for staging the chemical attack again. The BBC had a clip the other day showing Jaysh al-Islam (JAI) fighters and White Helments placing children into the open to be part of a staged attack. They previously did the same thing in E. Ghouta in 2013 which resulted in the Syrian government surrendering its chemical weapons stockpiles. At this point, the only parties with chemical weapons in the Syrian theater are the terrorists and their backers. Jaysh al-Islam has used chlorine gas attacks recently as welll, in Aleppo. The chlorine used in Douma has been sourced to the Germans. JAI also had VX nerve gas munitions from the UK.

The logical use of chemical weapons is to stop an army from advancing against an inferior force. In this case, that inferior force would be Jaysh al-Islam and other rebels in the area.

This is the sweetest thing I've seen lately Alec, in spite of all hatred left in comments section:

Russians came to Kiev with a sign "I am from Russia, will you give me a hug."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsw5bmqJ56g

This was in response to Ukrainians coming to St. Petersburg with a sign "I am from Ukraine, will you give me a hug."

A social experiment; you can see the results yourself.

Southern Russia mainly from the Volga River west, Ukraine and into Europe are lands which have been traveled by many people. Some of them have been there for thousands of years. I remember in Gomel at their museum they have archeological finds from the Sozh River people. Fishermen who lived along it and traded with many different people from all directions. Some old cloths they found were distinctly influenced by people from across the Blacksea and the Greeks/Persians. They were polytheistic though and were not converted until the PLC gained influence in the area. Their origins further back seem to have been Baltic in nature, not from the Muslim world.

None of your crap has even a toe in the pond of fact DKM. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE are all supporting terrorists. So is/was America. When ISIS came into Syria and became ISIL they traded sold oil from stolen wells all over the Arab world, especially Turkey. America KNEW this was going on. They could not have seen it. What did America do?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Russia came in and did something about it. Russias aid also turned the tide of the war. That's when America came in, when they needed to support their allies who were getting their asses handed to them. Unfortunately Americas terrorist aliies had other plans and were basically so untrustworthy that even that has failed. Syria and Assad are going to be around for a long time to come. Make no mistake of that and the only reason that is possible is because the Syrian PEOPLE want it that way.

Only a full scale invasion of Syria by NATO is going to change that and there's not many takers.

The US coalition moved their chemical weapons and terrorists from Libya when that war was ending. It was covered in the Symour Hersh article.

https://www.lrb.co.uk/v36/n08/seymou...d-the-rat-line

The US held meetings on preparations for creating unrest in Syria to set the stage for an invasion by CIA-trained rebel force like the Cuban Exiles, Nicaraguan Contras, Afghan Mujahedeen, Chechen Arab Miujahedeen, and the list goes on. It's now eight years since the Washington Post published the diplomatic cables between the State Department and its embassy in Damascus on the preparations.

Jaysh al-Islam was down to a small number when the Douma chemical attack was staged. The battle had already ended, and most of their men had been evacuated per ongoing negotiations that weekend.
