Russia has an Oscar II in the Med. Nuclear powered cruise missile boat.
Rumor has it every piece of Syrian ground equipment is dug in deep. Stores are widely dispersed and all aircraft are hidden or in Russian base . Syrian air defense is at maximum alert as is Russians.
What in the does the orange one want to do? Drop 100s of millions of dollars in bombs and missiles and get nothing for it?
Luckily going the way I hope...hitting some dirt for show and calling it a day.....still that does not eliminate the fact that this situation may happen again at the nest provocation by the losing terrorist side....
In the meantime, May and Macron are starting to buckle....
Theresa May Told Trump She Needs More Proof Syria Did Chemical Attack Before UK Joins Strikes
The French leader added that any action would not be intended to harm government allies, who include Russia:
“In no case will the decision we take be intended to harm the regime’s allies, or anyone else, but to attack the chemical capacity of the regime, if the decision is taken.”
You're amazing. Do you even know how sonar works? Radars? In most situations an active sonar or radar invites your destruction. Go out into a dark field some night with a flashlight. Turn on the light and shine it around. How far can you see? 5 10 meters. Now how far away can someone see you waving that flashlight around?
Don't hurt youself now.
Electronic and Sonic warfare are far more about observing and listening than shouting and waving lights around. If you rely on the latter you will soon pay for it.
l.
Dude, destroyers use active sonar, they are not trying to hide at all.
Russia is talking about defending Syria now. The reason is if we don't strike, they will claim it was because of this talk. If we do strike, they won't do anything but lie on TV that they shot down half our incoming missiles.
I do not believe for a minute that the UK government is behind the Skripal attempt....nor I believe Putin is behind it....
There could me many other actors in this affair....
It may have been an accident which would've exposed Britain's role in proliferating chemical weapons and overseeing their use. The government decided to accuse another government to cover it up. That is a possibility. The independent reports I've read from three former diplomats think this incident was planned. The precursor materials aren't a danger to the courier, and they have weapons labs set up in Syria, recently uncovered by the Russians and Syrians. When you find that many labs, there seems to be a definite sense of urgency on their part to manufacture an incident.

As much as I do not like Putin authoritarianism, I wish our president was as much as a 1/4 of a statesman as he is....calm, polite (so far) compared to the childish twitterstorm...I bet you are one of his voters....
You do not even realize why Russia may not retaliate (as long as it is a "face saving" operation and regime change is not on the table) even if an attack is performed...you would childishly claim that would be because "Russia was scared"....

That is actually much more credible than the Assad gas attack...
Today Russia condemned the World Health Organization for stating that the people in Douma appeared to have suffered from a chemical agent. That's how far Russia is going rogue these days

UN doesn't have access. They're going by the same White Helmets report that is being used by the US and UK. The organization is one of many setup in 2011 and funded by the US and UK for the war. The report is not corroborated by another organization that they fund to report on casualties. That's how bungled this false flag operation was.

That is the White Helmets' main office for coordinating activities in Syria. They also have a training center in Turkey as do other terrorist groups.

The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that they can't confirm use of chemical weapon in Douma (Syria). Before WHO has distributed the press release according to which 500 people visited doctors with problems because of toxic agents.
As TASS reports, the official representative of the organization Tarik Jasarevic has said that there are no representatives of this organisation in the Douma.
"We can't confirm it [the chemical attacks*] because our representatives aren't there", - Jasarevic noted.
He also added that his organisation has received the information from "partners in health sector". These "partners" are dislocated in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, on the border with Syria at a greater distance than 470 km from Douma.
