I trust EU leaders (especially the German ones) to do what is best for the people but not always the most popular choice
yeah alright, so what? a superstate of europe, with germany at the top? and the rest what? we shut up and follow? can you please see that it doesn't make sense? and that's it's even hurtful in a way? people these days wants freedom, there is more and more people who seek freedom from bigger state or countries that wants to leave other institutions, people don't want to merge into a massive thing with no identity at all or i don't know. wow, what's up with this world?

you prosper and rise up to there level. Right know Germany is on top because other countries are against them, but if you all joined together everyone would be on top, like the dream team

As a European living in the US for over 25 years, I support the premise of the OP.
Don't think its gonna happen soon though.

That's a loss for the EU and a gain for the US. The various trade agreements completed and under negotiation will increase the pressure on both the EU and smaller countries elsewhere to form part of a strong union. The concept of the nation state is passing into the history books. It has only been around for a few hundred years, and no-one said it had to last forever. Humanity is capable of adapting in this sphere also. If you think not, you need to say why not.

Personally I can't wait until we pull out of the EU and gain a bit of self respect back

And in regard to Europe being one country LOL now that is insanity
in The UK? the biggest problem of the UK is its social structure which created a big gap between the rich and poor.

Although that is a problem, immigration is still the number one

Not really. The most violent towns in the UK are in Northern England and Southern scotland the vaast majority of the population are ethnic brits. Immigration is a much smaller issue in the UK compared to countries like Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden or France.

Superstates are conformist dystopias.

Even the US, often held up as a superstate on paper is really only slighly more unified, in practice, as the current organizational structure of the EU, and the US is a country with a common founding myth and defacto common language, i.e. The United States is a far more fragile union than many people realize and it has been trending to more regional disharmony and fractured identity for over a century.

I agree that ultra-nationalism is problematic, and OPs contention that members of a European superstate could maintain a 'lighthearted national pride' is amusingly naive. For a European superstate to succeed, all potentially divisive national characteristics including language would have to be actively supressed of not prohibited to maintain unity.

I do think that there can be agreements and unions between sovereign nations, but superstates have too much potential for abuse and oppression of the individual, both individual nation/ethnicity and individual citizen.
