^^That's the part that often gets overlooked by diet gurus: keeping the evidence in context. For example, posting a Gish Gallop of studies of clinically obese patients, who lost massive amounts of weight and reversed diabetes on a particular diet, or of hard core body-builders who got down to single-digit body fat % on another diet. Both are impressive, but not necessarily relevant to the average Joe or Jane, doing a moderate amount of strength training and cardio for general health and fitness, and some minor recomposition.
