I know I shouldn't knock another's motivation, but I just don't understand all the obsession with hardcore weightlifting and trying to get a cop/soldiers body. Then again, I'm the type of person who'd rather have the stamina to run away from the fight than become part of it.
You don’t understand the obsession with men wanting a sexually attractive physique that both men and woman admire?
You might as well ask what’s the obsession with women getting boob jobs and Brazilian but lifts. Same concept, it’s sexually attractive, boosts confidence, etc.
Ok, I won't lie. Health problems made me start the weight loss process and it never occurred to me to try weight loss without simultaneously going to the gym. But ultimately, my workout motivator is 100% strength oriented. I like seeing myself get stronger. I like pushing myself with the weights. I don't care if I am not a "soft" woman any more. And it's never ending. You constantly want to push yourself too - for example, I benched 80, but then I take it to 90. My goal is 100.
And then there's vanity. I like clothes shopping a lot more now.
For me it was watching my dad illness over the last eleven years slowly taking his very life little by little until the end. Not wanting to end up with the same fate as my dad I became motivated and that require a major lifestyle change on my part, with my diet and get moving! .... So I took up running during that time and for whatever reasons it became my passions and love! Basically it help me cope and unwind, keeps me focus and I checkout from the here and now, and I change my diet as well, went all organic plant-base, no processed , fast foods etc! I feel much better for that! ~~
My adivce?.... Find something you love no matter what it is, were all unique and as individuals no two are alike, and that goes across the board with all things!... I look forward to my runs and love it always, so it never just becomes another thing to get done! I've added lightweights as well a few years back.
Going on nine years now and still living it, I feel great and still have all my parts and take no medications so it's working for me~~~ Peace Out~

Well, you look fabulous, at least from what I can see from behind!
I'm just wanting to get back into it again to be healthy and fit into smaller, vintage clothes again. I know I shouldn't knock another's motivation, but I just don't understand all the obsession with hardcore weightlifting and trying to get a cop/soldiers body. Then again, I'm the type of person who'd rather have the stamina to run away from the fight than become part of it.
yeah, why would any man try to have a sexy, muscular body, gesh!
Running away from anything is just way more attractive.
Health & attractiveness were never motivators enough for me. Once I got my fitbit, with all of the challenges and seeing how little exercise I was ACTUALLY getting, it became habit for me to get daily exercise. It's more habit now than anything else...I've made it a part of my lifestyle....that and I don't want to be the same weight when I have my next child.
To feel good.
I enjoy it.
It improves self defence.
