I started as a way to deal with stress. So far so good. I can't say I really enjoy the actual workout part too much. I like to be active, but its just boring. Would rather be playing hockey for example instead of getting my activity in a gym, but can't afford hockey 4 days a week.

I'm pretty physically active, one because I have a lot of energy when I finally wake up, and two because my job is a necessity for it and helps me to stay that way.

To be healthier and live longer. My kids are an inspiration. I want to live longer to be a part of their lives and hopefully someday my grandkids' lives. Also want to set a good example for them. I've only been running for not quite 2 months, and have managed to lose about 15 lbs in that time, from 201 to 186.

At first running was torture, something I forced myself to do, now I enjoy it, it makes me feel much better and my distance and speed keeps getting better. When I started I was running 1 mile at about 11:00 min/mi, now I'm up to 4 miles at 9:00 min/mi. Not blazing speed I know, but heading in the right direction.

I was 6'4 and only 130 pounds when i graduated high school. I kept growing and growing and with my metabolism so fast I couldn't gain weight to save my life. Combine that with almost zero upper body strength and I hated it. Now I'm at 220 pounds and stronger than almost all the guys I went to high school with, most of whom have massive beer bellies.

Most of the ways I like to have fun require balance, strength, and endurance. The better shape I'm in, the more fun I can have, and the longer I can keep having fun as I get older. My work is pretty physical as well, and it's a lot easier the stronger you are. I have a bit of personal pride in not being a weakling, even though I'm pretty small. I'm not about to be some whiny little helpless girl who can't do anything.

I work out because I like feeling fit and strong.
I work out because I like the way I look in clothes much better when I'm fit than when I'm flabby.
I work out because it makes me feel good about myself.
I work out because I want to be an example to my children.
I work out because I want to be healthy and live a long time.
