The title of the thread pretty much says it all! What is a type/genre of food you love, that you feel also doesn't get enough credit/attention in the food world, compared to others?
For me, it has to be Cuban food. I'm guessing it's more commonplace in the Southeast US (particularly Florida), but it seems rather uncommon here in the Pacific Northwest (various Asian cuisines, and fresh seafood, both of which I also highly enjoy, seem to be the region's specialty).
I'd say mid-east food isn't well-known/doesn't get much attention. I've unfortunately never been able to try any of it, even though I'd really like to. There are some good looking dishes from this region that I've seen on the internet too.
True British fare - most folks have no idea when it comes to the culinary creations Brits eat, they just hear how "bland and boring" British food is. Do a bit of research - I think you'll be surprised.
TV Dinners. Love that cobbler-thing in the top-center...
Who hasn't burned the roof of their mouth eating one of those?
