That split pea soup with ham is incredibly filling. I made it three weeks ago, and I could barely finish a small bowl.

I'm going to eat an excessive amount of hummus and baked pita chips, some cottage cheese and green grapes.

So husband says he's not sure, but he THINKS a leaky ice maker could be the culprit. He told me to stop running it for awhile to see if it reoccurs. He said at least all he had to do was clean up clean water, not what resulted many many years ago during what we now only refer to as "the great produce meltdown of '98" when for some reason none of us looked in the crisper drawers for quite some time. That was truly an experience in food science to say the least.

Anyway, dinner was sandwiches, dill pickles, and chips.

I found some beef kidneys at the grocery store; I know what I'm having.
I've yet to encounter an American who enjoys eating kidneys (or enjoys being in the house when I'm cooking them ).

Count me as the first American. My wife is half Filipino and she taught me how to enjoy all sorts of organ meat including kidneys.

That sounds great. I haven't had Italian food for a year. I'll have to change that soon.

I'm on the road & have a cold, so had a couple pieces of fried chicken (tossed the coating & skin) & some cough syrup for dessert.
