Dinner tonight is kind of on hold. Unfortunately, husband just discovered that the fridge is flooded on the bottom. I don't know what he's talking about (the kitchen is a narrow galley - two people can't fit in there) but the water is running, the fridge door is open, and he's grumbling. So I just don't know! I'm not sure where it's coming from (or even what it IS we're talking about) or whether this means I need a new fridge (landlady is going to love THAT! ) or what.

So we'll see.

Happy Thursday!
Your kiddo's awesome ski racing skills are obviously due to his superb nutrition, due to your super duper imaginative cooking skills.
My DH was a ski racer when I met him. Alas, no snow here.

Porterhouse steak, roasted potatoe wedges and Caesar salad. I keep trying to make the Caesar dressing in the blender, but it never is as good as in the bowl...go figure.

We're having a prepared Chicken Tikka Masala over rice. Just heat and serve. It's our first time trying Indian food, except for the chicken curry recipe I've made for years. It was from Peg Bracken's "I Hate to Cook Book," so I suspect it's not really authentic . . . ; >}

It's a frozen day here in Dallas, so I'm making split pea soup with my New Year's ham bone (with a ton of ham on it!). Onion, carrots, celery, bay leaves, the usual suspects. I will offer buttered bread with the soup, and we also have ribs and sides leftover from lunch at Lockhart's Barbecue.

Orange wedges or strawberries for dessert, and/or cookies with milk.
