Shanghai lion's head meatballs made with ground pork and tofu, among other things, with baby bok.choy, Napa cabbage, chicken broth and bean thread noodles. Lots of garlic and ginger. A definite make again
Having a dinner party. First course is charcuterie - wild boar, bresaola, dry spicy salami, calabrese salami, brie, gouda, parmigiano reggiano, and I think a sharp white cheddar. I made some accompaniments: hot honey, corn relish, pickled blueberries and roasted grapes. Also various olives and baked sea salt crackers. Prosecco to drink.
Main is ribeye steak with compound butter, yukon gold potatoes roasted in garlic and rosemary infused oil, grilled asparagus with fresh parmesan and salt cured egg yolk grated over top, caprese salad with pesto. Cab Sav to drink.
Dessert is olive oil cake with lemon curd. French press coffee to drink. My kitchen smells gooooood.
