Tonight I am having sauteed garlic and buttter green beans and Italian oven fried yellow squash and my DH is having leftover baked ziti and Italian bread.
I just finished making savoy cabbage and cannelini beans which were sauteed in garlic...and then I fried zucchini squash ( after eggand breadcrumb coat) and then I layered Italian sauce, sprinkle of mozzarella, grated cheesem american cheese, more sauce, more sprinkly cheeses etc until the casserole was filled to the top. Tomorrow I will serve these two casseroles with roast checken, salad scatted with Italian olives and prosciuuto. UMMMMMMMMMMMMM the fat is already sticking to my waist.
Since I'm a carboholic, and love pasta in any shape and form...we had boxed "Pasta Roni", Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli topped with Parmesan Cheese, Salad with bottled "Gino's East" Original Italian House Dressing, that my best friend brought back for me from Chicago, and Italian Bread. Mmmmm...
Does your newspaper have a weekly food section? Today, mine had recipes for lobster gnocchi with peas and also a cucumber soup...maybe I'll try them. I've also not had any gazpacho this summer.
Dinner? No idea but I reckon we should have fish as we haven't had it in a week. I'll be going grocery shopping soon to see what's available, and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
They nag, nag, nag you all the time ... 'Eat Fish, It's Healthy' ... yeah but it'll also make you poor! Bizarre, given where we live, we've got thousands of miles of coast with clean, lovely water but the prices imply fish is some sort of rare commodity.
Anyway, now that I'm all grumpy, I'll go shopping Cheer me up maybe.
