Yesterday's Tasmanian salmon was $34/kg, on special, which works out to about $15/lb. I got $22 worth for the four of us, they weren't big servings. Most fish are at least $40+/kg - so about $18/lb. There are cheaper import fish but I don't trust where they're from.

We have a large variety of fish. Many of which aren't available elsewhere, or maybe they're called something else. My favourite Australian fish is Red Emperor - a lovely firm white snapper-type species, with a fantastic subtle sweet taste unlike anything else I've tasted. $60/kg at its very cheapest.

Best value local fish is sardines, uncleaned at $6/kg. A bit of work to clean all those fishies but I don't mind it. They're really nice lightly breaded and either barbequed or pan-fried.

I love breakfast for dinner! I do that for the kids sometimes and they enjoy it....such a change of pace.

Last night was HOT, and another grill night (we're having an awful heatwave up here in New England). I made boneless chicken breasts and the last couple of turkey burgers (again with nothing on the side).

Good morning, all.

Last night's prime rib/new kitchen celebration was wonderful. As sides, we had baked sweet potatoes, corn, baby peas, fresh cukes. What was even better was cleaning up in our new sink. Heaven!

We had Linguini with Pesto for dinner tonight. Nice and easy as I make a big batch of pesto a couple times a year and freeze it. Came home from work, defrosted the pesto, cooked up the linguini .... easy peasy ... dinner! Was going to make a tomato salad to go with it but too tired. Just wanted simple. And it was. Simple and yummy.

Vichel- I think you need a fishing pole. Wow that is really expensive.

I really don't know what I am making yet. Either pot roast and gravy out of the freezer or hamburgers for my hubby. I will be having garden vegetables with melted swiss cheese on top.
