OMG, CoastalMaine, that sounds obscenely delicious!
That salad ... oh yum! I love blue cheeses so put some on a salad for me and I'm in heaven. Just goes so well, especially with a bit of fruit in it. I love arugula, caramalized pear, walnut and gorgonzola salad.
Well, I bought my fish for dinner tonight - I went with salmon. It was on special but from the price, it seems these fish are fed truffles and the finest French champagne or something. I'll coat them in flour and S&P, lightly pan-fry them, put thin slices of cucumber on them and pop them in the oven for about 10 minutes. Then make a bit of lemon white-wine sauce after deglazing the skillet. It's an easy recipe I've made for years. Not sure about the sides yet. Probably rice and some asparagus.
For dessert, I'm making more of those little individual Blueberry Crisps that I made a couple of weeks ago from a food blog (recommended here on C-D). So, there's a couple of those "Super" foods there - salmon and blueberries. I should feel super after supper.
Ok, so I'm curious. How much is salmon in Australia, and what other types of fish are typically in your market, and how much per pound?
Change of plans for hubby's dinner. I opened the pack of boneless chicken breast that was "supposed" to be good until August 22 and it smelled awful. I threw it out. I am not making him sick for a few bucks.
So I took out a T-bone steak from the freezer with new plans to grill it and now it's pouring out.
Last night ended up being philly cheesesteaks with GINORMOUS mushrooms from Costco. Seriously, they're white button mushrooms as large as portobello caps..it's insane. Took one mushroom for both our sandwiches..and we like a lot of mushroom! Can't beat the price either..
Tonight I'm finally getting my chicken caesar with homemade caesar vin and low fat eggdrop soup. Might toss a baked potato in there too, depending on how hungry we are come dinnertime.
Making my meatballs in spaghetti sauce that I think even Kelsie would praise me for. Problem is - it's for a potluck tomorrow night, and I hope I have enough left for the crowd!

Poured here all day, too, Lisa. Rare. Better walk the dog while the sun's out now. Could rain again.
Tonight we are having, sweet corn, sliced tomatoes, butternut squash and leftover green beans & potatoes. It all came from our garden except the corn we got it down the road from us. Told my kids "ain't nothin' better than a homegrown Indiana tomato". Veggies straight from the garden are so flavorable compared to what we buy at the stores.
skbs glad you found us sweetie we don't need you having a heart attack or nothing else.
YLisa I would wash that chicken label & take it back next time you go into that store.
Ya alls suppers sound mighty fine to me thanks for sharing everybody!

Lisa, I would have gone back to the store with the smelly chicken!
I added jalapenos, diced onion, and a 4 cheese blend to my plain cheese pizza and nuke for 40 seconds. Was very good. Much better than if they had charged me the extra $5 for them. I got them for a fraction of the cost...One food idea that worked.
