Went to the fishmonger and he had some nice fresh sardines, so I bought a bunch. Cleaned them at home. Marinated in olive oil, garlic, lime juice, S&P. Hubby barbequed them. Served with brown basmati rice and Caesar Salad with homemade dressing.
I love sardines done that way! We've got some leftovers which will be nice snacks over the weekend.
Either marinated chicken and couscous or buckwheat crepes with ham, emmental and egg yolks. I haven't decided yet but I am starting to feel quite hungry ! I only had a banana all day so at the moment either sounds good !
Potato soup with lots of cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions and crispy bacon, mexican corn bread and banana waffer pudding. I think after day we can be done with the soft foods for dd's braces.
Gulf Shrimp? The best. At least you are upstream from the oil spill.
What type of shrimp and size?

haha. Good questions! I don't know. I just bought one of those shrimp rings at Kroger that have everything all ready for you. They're the mediumish ones. If I were doing homemade I'd have gone for the jumbos. I do usually buy gulf shrimp.

If you purchased one of the ready made rings then you most likely purchased shrimp from Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, China, etc. and not a local US product.
Also when eating in a restaurant and ordering catfish, ask if its real catfish or basa.
Most restaurants serve basa, calling it catfish which it is not a catfish at all. Basa has scales and no catfish has scales.
Most basa is imported from Thailand and they farm them in waste treatment plants. Basa are used to cleanup the sludge, (human leftover waste) and then harvested and sold all over the word as catfish.
So if you don't mind eating fake catfish that lives off of human waste and is farmed in Thailand without regulations, go right ahead and order it.
Me, I'll stick to local farm raised or wild caught catfish from Louisiana or Mississippi waters.
Same with shrimp, I'll keep eating fresh caught local shrimp from Louisiana or Mississippi waters.
