RE: The name "Texarkana" being comprised of three states. True... I should have phrased it, "Kenova, WV, is the only US town named for the three states it borders."

The Shreveport, LA television market covers the same three states, but I have heard local stations use the term Arklatex to refer to that tri-state area: "The news leader in the Ark-La-Tex region!"

Odd that Arkansas gets to go first.

NYC and Philly TV markets each cover areas in 4 different states.

DC has 3 plus the district itself

Spokane, WA's TV market also covers 4: Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Western Montana and Northeastern Oregon. Parts of Canada may even get Spokane TV stations via cable.

NYC and Philly TV Markets overlap in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

At Philly TV's northeasternmost point, near Morganville, New Jersey, you border Aberdeen, which has sections on the Raritan Bay (Cliffwood Beach). And at Morganville (Where for sure you DO get Philly TV), you are only about 8.5 miles as the crow flies from the Southern Tip of Staten Island, NYC.

Try saying them some other way. Texlaark. Arktexla. Laarktex. Latexark. Texarkla.

The most populous town in the US is Hempstead, NY, pop. 759,757. Hempstead is one of three large towns in Nassau County, Long Island. Hempstead calls itself "America's Largest Town", but it actually consists of 22 incorporated villages. If it were incorporated as a city, it would rank the 16th most populous in the US.

As the crow flies the borders of NYC and Philadelphia are a little under 46 miles
