Interesting , I drove by one of those ,XXX, adult store, male entertainment spots off the interstate last week and noticed how many cars (without front plates) were backed in so you couldn't see their plates.

Why would they care if you could see their license plates? That tells you nothing...

Besides the photo enforcement, there is the bridge and freeway hot lane toll collecting by photo. Even before those, the police could run your plates when in front of you with front plates. Here, not only do they require front plates, we have to replace them every 5 years (fee, of course) so that they can "be seen better."
Front license plates should be REQUIRED for every state. Acts as a good tool in a possible rear end collision, more likely to quickly get plate info- particularly if it is a hit and run.
Not really, unless if you have a personalized plate with your name on it.
So I have been under this misapprehension that the county ,state , and specific combination of letters and numbers on my car's license plate are not specific to me ,but can be given to multiple drivers?

How does a license plate tell people who you are? Seriously?
Yes, seriously. An extended family member, friend, co-worker might remember your plate number. It's happened.
