Interesting. Only maybe 1/2 of these dudes sound like 'Texas' to me. Trelle and Peso Capone, but mostly Trelle.Overall I can tell theyre in a different region than East Texas.
Scam Story definitely my favorite one on here. I like that track.
That dude Izzy93 cant rap for ****. Mexicans can use the N-Word now?
Mike Dimes has a good voice/flow but needs to work on that beat, using a 2011 WizKhalifa-esque sample but using it wrong IMO.
To be honest with you, I don't know SA's black accent. Most Texans will know Dallas and Houston but no San Antonio. If one is there, I wonder how watered down it is since San Antonio is very much a military town. I also don't know San Antonio's sound. I would bet it has major influence from Houston more than anything.

A lot of the people on the East side have been there for generations so the accent is pretty much the same as Houston/Dallas there.
This would be a pretty good example
Out in the suburbs like Converse it's a maybe a little different because of the military, but a lot out there still have the Texas accent. If you were to go on the streets on the East side and talk to people you probably wouldn't be able to to tell the difference between that and Oak Cliff in Dallas.
Music wise in the mid-2000s it was definitely Houston influenced. Swangers, drank, Houston artist features, all the same slang. These days it's hard to pin it down.
These are great. I love TOnite by Quick, I definitely play that one a lot. But Man I have so many short dawg songs I love. I bump these when im in Vegas..
Gangster and Strippers is a classic! IDK why Bay-area dudes swear by E-40. He's corny to me. Too Short should be getting that type of love he's one of my favorite rappers of all time.

Lol brah E-40 is one of the real ones, he's anything but corny. Maybe his voice sound like a cartoon but he's a real street one. The Los Angeles and Socal streets all vouch for him, it isn't just the Bay niether.
Too Short do get all the love, they're renaming a street in Oakland after him.

Benzino was real in the streets too, but we don’t really ouch for his rap credentials. That was actually his problem.. too heavy in the street and not heavy in the booth.
E-40 always been hella gimmicky corny to me. Short Dawg wasn’t really a pimp like that but he was harder in the booth.

That's what I'm saying. I think we have to be from Cali to understand it.

E-40 been just as hard in the booth too. You may not like his style, fair enough, but he def hustles. It took me a minute to appreciate his style so I get what your talking about though.
Haven't really been able to get into E-40 either but I can always appreciate how the Bay has their own unique sound where you just know it as soon as you hear it.
Not super knowledgeable on Bay Area rap but this one was always dope to me
This track is cool too, I think he lives/d in Sac (not positive) but he's from Mobile, AL. Hearing the southern accent over the hyphy beats is a cool touch.
This dude can rap too. His LA Leakers freestyle was crazy.
