Best over-all appearance: Boston
Most beautiful lake scenery: Salt Lake City (would have went with Tahoe, but it's unfortunately not a city)
Most beautiful costal scenery: San Diego
Most beautiful mountain city: Asheville, NC
Most beautiful architecture: Charleston, SC
Salt Lake City isn't even on a lake , the great salt lake are outside of town.
wow people are actually saying cities are beautiful because they have a nice backdrop? Wow i was only talking about the city themselves. In that case, Charleston, Boston, New York, Baltimore, DC, etc are not beautiful because they do not have hills or mountains
I agree, all of those cities have beautiful settings.
The reason I give SLC the nudge is because it's also a very clean city. There are no slums in SLC and very few public housing projects. There aren't many homeless, there are very few empty buildings (I honestly can't remember seeing any), the streets are clean, and there seems to be a lot more pride in the appearance of the city than in most other places.
Salt Like City does have slums , but it has "less than any other" Large City In The United States.
I'd rather look at the bikinis on the North Avenue Beach than some distant mountains, so my vote for most beautiful city goes to Chicago in the summertime
Come to California and you can see Bikinis and Mountains , and we even have some NUDE Beaches.
I agree that Little Rock is very beautiful and mainly over looked when it comes to naming America's most beautiful cities , the green Mountains and Arkansas River running through it gives it a very special look.
If you can get past the smog LA is a very beautiful city
