Fat Tuesday Daiquiri Bar officially opened in downtown Greensboro at the Railyard. The site was originally slated for a Wet Willie's frozen Daiquiri bar. But like Wet Willie's, Fat Tuesday bars are typically located and major U.S. cities or major tourist cities so its kind of a big deal this opened in downtown Greensboro. The owners have said they have already been getting calls from Charlotte, Raleigh and cities in Virginia. So this daiquir bar is going to become a big draw.
Fat Tuesday is a massive plus for downtown, it draws in people from everywhere like clockwork, kudos to Greensboro and DGI for having the only FT in NC, south end is it's own economic powerhouse. Too much to choose from.
No longer have to go to murytle beach, as FT is in Greensboro now.
I was pretty impressed by the cheese cake factory opening, but FT is a much larger deal.

Its impressive that they chose Greensboro but even more impressive that they chose downtown. There was a time when this kind of establishment would have never opened downtown. Today downtown has the momentum.
I agree two or 3 more restaurants and 2 or 3 more bars in the south side of downtown and it will be a entertainment district! Greensboro needs a karaoke bar. Fat Tuesday owner said he will have a karaoke type thing out side on the grass between work and his place. But we need a real karaoke bar.
Photo update on Carroll at Bellemeade / Hyatt Place Hotel. On the Eugene Street side facing the ballpark, they have made some progress. The apartments are up to the 5th floor, they have one more floor to go. They have also started putting windows in the Hyatt Place. Not much left on the outside of the hotel to do but to put on the exterior finishings The center part of the hotel with the sloped roof will be glass and it actually reaches to 7 stories to the tip. In about a month construction on the ballpark tower across the street from the Hyatt Place will begin. In the near future we will see a tower crane!
Mr Roy Carroll can watch progress on his project from his pent house in his Center Pointe tower in the background. Ive actually seen him up there standing at his balcony.
Actually, I didn't. But you sure hype the crap out of it.
And its worth hyping being that downtown has not seen the construction of a tall tower in 27 years. Way long over due.
