$2.66 for postage up to a pound. Time.. You'd have been using the time to go to the store anyway. If that's too excessive.. I believe Home Depot sells limited lifetime warranty hand tools. They'll exchange them at the store.. Though I think they require a receipt.
A single socket is worth less than $2.66. I think Home Depot and Lowes have implemented a policy similar to Sears for their tools - likely in an attempt to gain customers fleeing the uncertain future of Craftsman tools.
I have a large set of Craftsman ratchets I bought years ago when I was living in Maryland and in the Army. One of the wrenches is broken and I have it set aside to return to Sears (they rebuild the wrenches instead of giving you a new one) the next time I go to the mall. It's been broken for 3 months or so. In that same time period, I've probably been to Lowes or Home Depot a few dozen times.
For new tools, I just buy them from Lowes now since they give me a military discount, their store is near the house, and I figure the warranty from there is likely to outlast a warranty associated with Sears.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it or not but apparently The Dapper Donut at Haywood mall closed down back in Feb/March. They noted on their Facebook page they are looking for another location.
Does anyone know what is going on with the old Publix on Fairview Road? I drove by there and the building is under construction. What is going to be built there? Is Publix keeping it?
I do like the new Publix Farm theme down the street.

Looking at the list of 72 stores, some of these stores are in some strong locales.
Won't be long until the Haywood Mall store is on the list.
"The company signaled that there may be more closures to come. It initially said that it would be shuttering 72 locations out of roughly 100 non-profitable stores but when it later provided the list of locations that would be shuttered, the number had shrunk to 63. The company said that 'a small group of stores was pulled from the closing list . .. as they are being evaluated further.''' - USATODAY.com
