Driving through Simpsonville tonight, noticed that the Anytime Fitness has apparently closed. Not sure how long it has been gone, but the building is vacant.
I wonder if we are about to witness a quantity of fitness centers closing.

I don't think any more than normal. Anytime Fitness likely went under due to the new Planet Fitness opening up.
Anytime was 24/7 and was a clean facility.. but I think they charged about $36/mo and Planet Fitness offers $10/mo memberships as well as $25 a month, which also gets you tanning, guest privs, hydromassage(whatever that is) and massage chairs. Plus, it was a new facility.. All shiny and bright. Plus.. based on the locations.. Planet Fitness was easier to get to and seemed to have much better security.. Anytime was kinda in a dark location.
Health clubs are fairly notorious for going under.. never pay up front for a membership, regardless of the deal they offer, because you'll never get that money back if they do fold.
about the only one that you can depend on to be there always is the YMCA. Pretty sure they aren't going anywhere.
September 2nd. Diggers is moving into the food court, and supposedly that'll be finished next month.
Kinda funny that this is the second time that location has come and gone for Diggers. (The first time they were in that spot by the mall was 2001 or 2002?)

Diggers has bounced around that whole area. They were at the shopping center across from Green's in the late 90s. Then they moved to where Johnny Rockets was around '03. Then they moved back to the Shopping center by Green's. Weird.
Anyone know the story on Taco Casa being all boarded up? It was open and typically crowded only a few days ago, but all the doors and windows are now covered with plywood.

My wife just breathed a large sigh of relief. I'm not a huge fan, but she likes to re-lubricate her joints there, from time to time. She was definitely not a happy camper when we passed by the place yesterday.

Not surprised and not just Diggers. That little corner shopping strip by the mall has always had tenants come and go over the years. Even Five Guys left. Kind of a forgotten and hidden kind of location.
IMO The food court will be a much better location for Diggers next to Chick-fil-a. Lots more foot traffic. I also noticed it appears Dawg House is adding a location in the mall food court as well.
There has been some more activity at the former Ruby Tuesday on Pelham Road. Has there been confirmation of anything going in there? Panera?
