I just ordered a a few boxes of Federal 5 shot 16ga. Stopped at every LGS option over almost 600 miles and found none on the shelves. That’ll replenish what I shot upland hunting this season.

Birds are tough hunting this late. Weather is unseasonably warm and no snow- the pheasants are getting up 75-100 yds out. Walked 6 miles this afternoon along a winding dry creek bottom- dogs did what they could but pointed a lot of fresh scent where birds flew the coop a minute before we could get to them. Managed a few roosters.

It beats sitting on a couch.

For whatever reason, every place which carries ammo around here has fairly plentiful stocks of 16ga .

Not a really numerous firearm anymore but I like it. Kind of a sweet spot for upland birds.

That's tough hunting when they can run wide open.

Yeah pretty good bite going on at Lake Sacajawea near Williston ND. My friend in Westby ( hunting friend) is also on the US Ice Fishing team- never hurts to go fishing with a pro, lol.

He’s flying to Mongolia for this years tourney in March.

Oh actually 16 and 28 are becoming more sought after and being used more frequently. When I went to the NE to hunt deer, 3 of us had 16ga shotguns.

I have noticed some 28ga ammo in a couple stores, here.

I don't think I had seen that, before 2023.

20 rounds for $21.

The store only had one box, but it's the first 410 I've seen in 2+ years!!!
According to AmmoSeek, 410 is just beginning to be more common.
(There is hope!)

For 410, Number 4 shot, only.
(Good for medium sized varmints)
