I only see two rules at the top of this forum, and the second one is:

Also, being a "Hobbies and Recreation" forum, posts that discuss the killing fellow humans will be deleted.
I can send you a DM, if you wish, but I don't want to give the moderator something to delete.

EDIT: I'll go ahead and send the DM, you can read it or delete it, as you wish.

I’m not sure supporting your opinion of ‘why 00 buck is not a PD round’ would violate that.

Which I totally disagree with you, btw. Unless countless LEO’s and military units got it all wrong for what? 75-100 years?

I never meant to imply 00 Buck isn't a defense round, although I can see where someone would think I meant that.

I just meant to say "I think #3 lor #4 buck is better."

I wanted "00" buck shot, but I could not find any. So I got the #3 instead. My shotgun shoots 3" magnums that I bought many years ago for duck hunting. It is for short range self defense only now.

I pattern all my shotguns, and for me 3” Remington 00 shoots incredibly consistent with my shotgun and choke combo. It gives me the flexibility to take game and defense. And there are larger animals with 4 legs and sharp teeth that we have in our neck of the woods.

I don’t need to worry about which load I need for what- the boom stick is ready.

His shotgun is 20 gauge, which is a bit more scarce.

Notes to reubenray:

That said, I did find some 20 Gauge Buckshot on SD Ammo, one of the suppliers I used several years ago.
https://www.sgammo.com/catalog/shotg.../20-gauge-ammo
They only list #2 and #3 buck this morning, but that is excellent defense ammo.

And while it may not be the best for the deer and elk, that are plentiful just a few miles South of you, I reckon it would do the job, should you ever decide to go that route. I don't know if your gun can fire slugs, but SD Ammo has a few of those too.
