I have an old Italian 6.5 Carcano bolt action rifle that it is very hard to find ammo locally. Online it runs $1.30 and up per round. I bought this when I was a teenager for hunting deer for $25. I have one box of Norma brand and two five round clips of this.
This was the type of rifle that Oswald used to kill JFK.
Because this isn't a common ammo, $1.30 might not be such a bad deal.
The only manufacture I could find, that still makes it is Privi Partisan, in Serbia.
Privi makes decent brass for reloading. I couldn't find ammo for my 8x56R Steyr and found a few boxes Privi so at the same time ordered bullets and dies to reload it. Super cheap now. I only have one clip for it so always super careful not to misplace it.
I bought a 20 round box of Hornady 100 Grain .243 Soft Point for 33 dollars tax included at Academy. There was a lot of .30-06 and .270 on the shelves too.
I picked up a 20 round box of .243 Hornady 100 Grain soft point for 29.99 dollars plus tax at the local sporting goods store today.
