Making a point about how kids are very health and appearance conscious. If it werent for the fact that this school constantly wins academic decathalons, you would think its just a "Fashion" school because of how all the kids look and dress. Long hair is an important factor in young women looking and feeling pretty/beautiful. There are a couple of non-long hair wearing gals but, as I have said before, they are more of the goth/artsy type.

Wow....that's kind of a reach.....but that wasn't the thread topic. Why girls wear their hair long was. Weight, clothing, academics or how great your kid's school is....isn't.

It actually is possible for most people to discuss things without the topic reverting to weight.

We all need you to try to stay on topic. Can you do that? Lets not start attacking fellow posters here.

Exactly. And that opinion is that of the MAJORITY of younger women in todays society. Or, at least it is of the opinion of the majority of women that I know.

Wife is a dancer, all of her friends are dancers, she is at the dance studio most of the day with other dancers/artists/yoga types, they ALL have long hair. Why? Because THEY love long hair. Not ridiculous Crystal Gail long, but pretty Kim Kardashian/Nicole Scherzinger long.

Plus, not every woman can pull of looking as beautiful with long hair like the Anna chick from "V" who looks BETTER with short hair than with long hair. The Harry Potter girl got a lot of flack with she cut off her hair. She still looked very pretty, but most people thought it was a step down in beauty from long hair.

a really attractive girl will typically look attractive with long hair, short hair, ugly clothes, etc. but she will probably look best with the long hair.

Lao, your description of the 'majority of women you know' is not 'the majority of women' I know, nor probably the 'majority of women' that many posters here know.

No one doubts your opinion, we just doubt it's the only opinion

I don't think it's a trend. It's been going on for a long time and now it has just become "standard." It's natural for young girls to have long hair, and it is becoming to most of them to do so. It is also way less maintenance and again, less products, fewer toxins in the form of perm or color chemicals . . .overall, I think it is great! Why would anyone care?

Seems to be the majority of the women the OP knows as well which inspired him to start a thread about it.

Default why?

Because the majority of men say they love long hair, duh.
