I'm more a look ahead to the future as opposed to a past I can't recreate. I'm less concerned about firsts than the here and now and future.

Easy. I predict Hawaiian airlines will continue to be first in on time performance.

And that provides an unique experience for ppl travelling to Hawai'i and back right? Something other airlines or mainland areas don't have right? Unique would u agree? And i have always enjoyed Hawaiian Airlines Custemer service, don't u win awards with that?

No the point isnt to live in the past, for its gone, just like this thread really wasnt about politics in Hawai'i but how unique it is from the mainland. Further when i share and others share about the past it isn't to go live in the past, its gone. It isnt about movie houses or drive-in food places and drive-in theaters for those things sakes. Its about how we felt about the unique experiences(hard to describe the feeling). But what most of us who remember the past, if we were honest would agree we don't get that same unique emotional experience from corporate chain theaters for example. I think its because its not a unique experience. The best feeling i can discibe it as is love, its like how locals take pride in where they are from its about love. Hope u guys can fall in love with the spirit and uniqueness of Hawai'i like i an alot of people have. Then you will understand.

That's not accurate. As the article said "There are currently only a limited number of openly transgender elected officials serving in the US and around the world. "

IOW, she was a first for the state, not for the country.
