In 2002 the University of Hawai'i at Hilo (UHH) established a Master's Degree program in the study of the Hawaiian Language (Ōlelo Hawaiʻi), and then in 2006 established a PhD program in the same subject.

This made UHH the first university in the country to offer a doctorate in a language that is native to the U.S.

Mahalo, Open D for your post. I had completely forgotten that one. Its a goal of mine when i get back home to attend UH and continue to learn the language.

Did you know a place in Hawai'i ranks first in rainfall in the country and world. Mt Waialeale, This Hawaii place has an average yearly rainfall of 460.00 inches?

Aloha,

Heres something that is no surprise for people living in Hawai'i, but for people wantting to move it might be good to know, that Hawai'i is first in the country to Have the highest electrical rates in the country.
