Yes, saying "that I know of" would certainly be more accurate. And many people do say that.
But many times people are trying to virtue signal that it was their behavior or choices that prevented them from getting covid when they really have no idea if they had it or not. For quite a while, our blood donation center would also test blood for covid antibodies, which would prove you hadn't had the virus yet.
Anyway, that time is pretty much over, all our area's free drive through test sites shut down last spring. We used up all our home tests last summer when everyone got it at a family gathering. Not sure how long our natural immunity will last, but now we've joined the ranks of the never testers.
Before there was a vaccine, I got the antibody test. November 2020. They were offering it for $10 at LabCorp. I did not think I had COVID, but I was trying to go over the northern border under an exemption, and I figured having the test results would help make my case. It was negative.

There are antibody tests (Nucleocapsid) that can tell you if you had COVID even if you were vaccinated.
I notice you don't provide an actual link. The argument that those who died died "with corona virus" than because of it is an old one that has been debunked. For those who are interested in knowing how Covid 19 deaths are tabulated you might read this from the CDC.
You can go on the NIH.GOV site and look up the actual trials of remdesivir, where 54% died in the 2 studies. Remdesivir, also known as Veklury, was the protocol Fauci ordered hospitals to use for covid patients. It causes pulmonary edema and renal failure. Don't you remember the articles coming out of NY saying everyone was shocked a resp virus was causing kidney failure, and " lungs filling w/fluid", and how they were running out of dialysis machinrs ( not just ventilators).
And you can google Dr walensky's video where she stated most died wirh covid not from covid.
Re your medpage link...I don't tend to believe those " scientists" that are receiving $ from pharma to push the narrative. Dr's had their licenses threatened if they spoke of adverse events from cv shot, or wrote medical exemptions. Look at California's recent bill, where if drs disagree with politicians they can be fined, jailed and lose medical license.

Here these are not provided free so many people do not know whether they have had the virus. My husband and most others like him say that as far as he knows he has not had it. A year ago we were required by law to have a PCR test when we were a close contact. He had several tests then, all negative.
But the estimates here are that 70% of the population have had it along with 90% of children.
Good and bad things were recommended to treat COVID, and some were tried that were proven not to work that well.
But here is the deal in case it has been forgotten. COVID was a world wide pandemic. About 7 million people died, that we know of. That is almost 10 thousand people a day. There was anxiety and panic. It was new and not much was known about the virus. Hospitals were maxed out. Dead bodies were piling up in refrigerated trucks. Everyone wanted something done or wanted to do something. And the bottom line is, when you are faced with thousands of people taking their last breath, no matter what you do, odds are, you will not make the situation any worse. If you do nothing, they die. So you try anything that you think might help. If it does not, you try something else.
Bureaucracies and the magnitude of the problem did not help. Politicians offering advise did not help. Now, trying to blame people that were trying to solve an extremely complicated problem does not help.
As smart as we think we are, science does not always provide answers without a lot of hard work and time. Sometimes, there is no time or solution. Even the solutions we have now, though they obviously are helping, are not 100% perfect.
We are at the mercy of the universe and though we scream and cry in the darkness, the universe will have its way.
Maybe we have to start saying "I haven't had COVID that I know of"!
Exactly. We had our temperatures taken every day for nearly two years when we entered the building at work. At a certain elevation--I don't even remember what it was now--we were sent home. And most tested. I know many people who felt really sick and had flu-like symptoms, but tested negative for COVID.

They probably had the flu like all the other people who tested negative for covid when sick, but the narrative is that no one had the flu. I always thought that was strange.
Also, many of us never had fevers with covid.
