You probably need to descale it. I descale mine every 6 months. I've had the same machine for almost 6 years now.
Basically, you fill the water resevoir with white vinegar and "brew" the vinegar. You allow the vinegar to sit in the machine for several hours. Then you rinse it with water by "brewing" the water. I usually brew one thing of vinegar and then 3-4 of water.
I have a KitchenAid KPCM050NP Pro Line Single-Carafe Coffeemaker in a Nickel Pearl color. I've had it for almost 9 years and love it more every day. It looks attractive and is easy to operate. Sadly, it's not available any longer so, if I had to buy another coffeemaker, I'd look for another KitchenAid.

Built like a tank. There's a reason there's one of these in every cafe and diner from sea-to-shining-sea, they're built to last. I think I paid $150 for it about 20 years ago. Just about every part is replaceable in the unlikely event something should go haywire. Family owned company out of Springfield, IL.
I've never tried the Cafe Bustelo brand. I don't know how to clean it.
I'm normally having this issue and replaced the K-cup I forgot how many times because of it. And BBB will replace it for free it you didn't know that.
I've never tried the Tassimo. Does that have any issues~? Can you buy their coffee in the grocery or where~? I didn't know Keurig had a strong brew cycle. Which one has it~?
Cool I did not know that about the Better Business Bureau I may just give them a call. Thank you for the info!
My wife prefers quality over quantity (I can't stand the stuff, too many years suffering from car-sickness while my parents drank coffee) so she has a couple different options.
The main/mostly used option is a Chemex:
But she also has a french press (more for Chai tea than anything else since buying the Chemex):
and an Espresso pot (with accompanying stainless milk frothier for lattes):
Then we have an electric kettle with digital temp display to hit the right temps for coffee and tea (which is my primary drink), and then I have a nice tea pot for loose-leaf brews.
Looking at upgrading her blade coffee grinder to a burr-type as that's really the final step to having complete control, but she already says that coffee at home is better than everything else she's had outside the home over the past 5~6 years.
She used to have a several-hundred dollar espresso machine, but it was more work for less quality than the manual system we use today (and yes, I do make some of her coffee...)
For whatever it's worth, her favorite bean/roasting company is Raven's Brew out of Alaska (Amazon sells it but it can be found in local stores all over the US, we buy it from Fresh Market here in Georgia).
My last 2 keurigs have died when I've tried to clean them. I'm now on my 3rd the small one. We also have a cuisinart coffee maker, a french press and a stove top espresso maker. My son is visiting for Christmas and he's a bit of a coffee buff so I'm hoping something will appeal to his taste, at home he has a Rancillo Silvia coffee machine :\
same here , 3rd kurig in about 7 years
