He probably told ICE he had no way to care for the children in Mexico, hoping they's say "Ok, you can stay here then," but it didn't work that way, so now he wants to take the kids with him.
He's the one who put his children in this situation. Why would he continue having children with a woman who's unable to care for them, knowing he's subject to deportation? Actually, I think they should go with him, but apparently once Children's Services gets involved, it's very difficult to get them to change their minds.
