Do Employers Know What Entry Level Means?
Yes, to some employers "Entry-Level" means "Exploitable." Because of skyrocketing costs they often don't have much of a choice.

What's wrong with that? If there are potential applicants out there that are exactly what an employer wants, why should they look at less qualified individuals?

because, if ALL companies maintain this philosophy, and those unemployed and those coming into the job market cannot find jobs, you will see crime explode?

is that there problem? maybe not now, but when you have 15 million unemployed men looking for work, told to forget it, things will get very ugly.

and, not filling a position for months when a person could be trained in days/weeks is not good business sense.

Just out of curiosity... Who are you going to blame, business or the government that fails to provide the proper environment for business to grow naturally?

andywire, Does it matter? Seriously? Business like citizens needs an orderly society. Check out bombing attempts on Wall Street in the early 20th century. Imagine such events today, with 20x the population down there 9-5. Recall Tim McVeighs' grieneces , unaddressed, not saying I agree with him, but we have ticking time bombs amongst the 15 million that may well do more harm to Corp America than any tax code ever could.

People w/o hope are dangerous to all others. The lone wolf homicidal person who kills 10 at an office complex is little different than a Middle East suicide bomber, execpt for , right now, weapon of choice.
