LOL...I might have been ahead of my time...but I did that exact trick back in 1975, as a senior in high school! The box was smaller in dimension and not self-supporting as shown in the video...but the concept was exactly the same!

(and let me beat (pardon the pun) one of my fans to their punch line...NO, it was not a ring box!)

Just to clarify, the Santa Clara River and the Virgin River confluence is just south of St. George in Utah. The Santa Clara river flooding of 2005 was a disaster, I'm not sure how it fared in this most recent storm.

The houses featured on the news in Beaver Dam AZ were swept into a wash that does eventually feed into the Virgin River. The Virgin River did overflow it's banks in the east part of Mesquite. See local paper (http://www.mesquitelocalnews.com/news.php?id=2&t=HOME%2FLocal+News - broken link) for details.

mod interpose: this thread is going off topic in it is now discussing Santa and Clara's relationship. After Christmas, these off topic posts may be removed. Thanks.

LOL.

Starting to go off topic? Given that this thread began two weeks ago as a discussion about my trip to Laughlin, you'd have to delete 100+ posts if you're going to remove the off-topic ones.

mod interpose: *lol* you're absolutely right. I think this thread has run its course as it's basically now a chat thread ...well, it was always a chat thread.

I stand corrected Rocco...and I personally could care less what Santa and Clara do in their off time.

So for on topicness...How about that beautiful weather we are having now? Christmas Eve was just absolutely gorgeous. I have family visiting from the snowy north and they were loving it! We went to Ethel M and saw the lights, very cool.
