I foresee many Chinese immigrant green cards being revoked in the coming years. Mostly those who are affiliated with the CCP or are sons/daughters to top CCP officials.

The factories there already had pressure to go elsewhere, this will just expedite that process. We might actually see Taiwan recognized by the USA as a country in this decade. Wouldn't be surprised if we have more war ships parking in the waters around China as well.

That is a real possibility. I hope the people supporting the shutdown also support this tax.
Prohibition of the income tax in NV is constitutional ....

************************
9. No income tax shall be levied upon the wages or personal income of natural persons. Notwithstanding the foregoing provision, and except as otherwise provided in subsection 1 of this section, taxes may be levied upon the income or revenue of any business in whatever form it may be conducted for profit in the state.
************************

So it is out of the reach of the Governor except by amending the Constitution. Which is not going to happen.

1st amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

10th amendment The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

second amendment A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

But yet we're not allowed to gather, go to church, swear in public buildings, protest at buildings where the secret service is, open carry guns, carry the guns we want, or buy guns without infringement.

Clearly state governments and the federal government do not give one single s#!+ about the constitution.

Here's a good (long) read about when things might start to open up. It is an opinion piece obviously. I tend to agree with most of what is said.

Nonsense. The restrictions are coming from the States and some have declined. And the police powers of the states has always included the right to do what is necessary to assure public health. Those police powers existed before the US was formed and have simply continued.

While I do not have an issue with anger being directed at China, I do not believe that is going to accomplish anything. However, Governor Sisolak needs to be held accountable by the people of this state for the havoc he is causing unnecessarily. I am starting to think this either is all about his fears regarding this virus given he appears to be in the highest-risk demographic or politicizing the situation to the extreme for his benefit. You could argue his latest ridiculous edict which was proclaimed yesterday evening supports either view.

Government agencies and businesses do cost-benefit analysis frequently even as it pertains to human life. Here is an explanation directly from the EPA:

https://www.epa.gov/environmental-ec...risk-valuation

Costing hundreds of thousands of people in Nevada and many millions of people across the United States their jobs and ruining their financial and mental health is an irrational and unconscionable action. The actual data and "reputable" projections do not justify these draconian measures any longer. If the people in the high-risk demographic are not comfortable with the risk, then they should continue to take all precautions which they feel are necessary to isolate themselves and protect their health. The rest of society should be able to move on with life. I see this situation as no different from an individual giving informed consent since I highly doubt there are any Americans at this point who are not well aware of the costs and benefits of proceeding with their lives.

He's been chomping at the bit to raise taxes since before he took office. I'm worried about property tax since that's something he already was targeting.

Why are Democrats so obsessed with the fact that Trump plays golf on weekends? Every president since I have been alive has played golf.

Everybody is entitled to a little down time.

I mean, do YOU work 7 days a week?
