The odd reactions by a few to rational criticism of Fauci reminds me of the odd reactions many months ago to criticisms of Cuomo.

There are certainly good and sufficient reasons to criticize both. (Not saying the reasons are identical). Ditto Trump and Biden.

Fauci now claims one of the reasons he originally said masks weren't necessary is that he wanted to protect the limited supply of PPE equipment at the time. In other words, he admitted to lying for political reasons.

There are other instances where he admitted to lying to the public. I forget the details, but it had something to do with the percentage of people who need to take the vaccine in order for herd immunity to kick in. His number changed. When asked about the change he admitted to changing his estimate based on results of a public opinion poll. In other words, he created a number in an attempt to sway public opinion on a topic.

Everyone makes mistakes. However, prominent public health officials should not be intentionally lying in an attempt to force a desired outcome. Maybe he is as smart as some believe. He still does not have all the answers.

His admission of lies has permanently destroyed his credibility IMO. Think about it... as a medical professional you truly believe masks can save lives. Then you tell the public NOT to wear them because you want to save them for people you deem more worthy. That's the opposite of his oath of "First do no harm." He has become more professional politician than medical doctor.

And that’s the thing, even if he stretched the truth for a good reason he can no longer be a trusted source of information. It’s not that he made a mistake, but that he didn’t tell the truth, which is a big difference.

Well stated!

And the fact that he was pictured in a research lab with Obama, possibly even the Wuhan lab, where this virus supposedly "escaped" from, puts his credibility in question, as far as I'm concerned.

You do understand by framing everything in terms of Trump that your argument loses credibility.

6.8 million J&J vaccines given, less than 10 had blood clots, which is a lower percentage of blood clots women get from birth control. But The Fauc wants it pulled.

Everyone of the above has had every aspect of their lives (some of it directly relative to the job itself- others not) dissected and judged. I would challenge anyone who is in the position of having to make decisions for many people, that after the situation was over didn't find things they would do over. For these people, there is nothing but a magnifying glass. None of which does anyone good.

We all learn by our mistakes and so too will these people -once the situation is over. There was/is no precedent for how to handle this virus and therefore mistakes will be made.
99%. Minus hating on Trump of course. That's just easy regardless of his party.

CDC and FDA recommended pulling it. Fauci works for neither.

But he’s out talking it up as Biden’s chief medical adviser.
